# Update
So this is my first post. Besides the landing page, of course. This whole process of posting publicly is new to me, and this post is my attempt at establishing a beachhead in this uncharted territory. My only goal with this is accountability, and since I have no desire to promote this to anyone, I imagine the only readers here are web scrapers and other bots. So hello, computers! That reminds me of the iconic Star Trek line--the one where Scotty is attempting to voice activate a 20th century computer. Maybe I will use that in my openers on here.
Blogs are mostly dead at this point, and I'm fine with that. It takes off a lot of the pressure, especially as I dive into topics I lack expertise in. After years of growing consumption, I want this year to be about creation. My mantra is to be prolific. In my writing, in my hacking, in my coding, in trying new things, and in meeting new people. I want to live in discomfort, not too dissimilar from what some "tough love" productivity gurus like David Goggins preach but hopefully in a healthier way.
This will hopefully be a bit more streamlined in coming posts, but the structure of these weekly posts is to give updates on ongoing projects--sometimes venturing into minor life updates--, give some interesting articles/write-ups I took notes on, and list some of the things I've reviewed using spaced repetition. It does me no good to take a ton of notes if I never revisit them to help cement the topics.
If my landing page isn't an indicator, my main projects, for now, can be divided into three categories: tech, fitness, and writing.
Tech is sometimes all over the place as I'm usually juggling half a dozen projects at once. I currently am in two classes and preparing for a new cert as well. I'll get more in depth in next week's update. Suffice to say, right now I've doing focusing a lot on Java and other random topics.
Fitness is mostly preparing for a few races: half-marathon, marathon, and triathlon. Eventually I'll dip my toes into some hypertrophy training.
Writing is much more introductory. I am attempting a complete rewrite of a draft of a book from a decade ago. I've also got some short stories in the works.
I'll probably make this in a more bullet-point style for future updates unless more background is needed.
